Has 35 years experience as an attorney, arbitrator and mediator in construction, commercial and consumer matters. For the last 35 years, has served as the head and owner of a legal/consulting firm specializing in construction contract law, arbitration, mediation, contract drafting and negotiation, claims, resolution of business, commercial and partnership disputes, and homebuilding matters. Serves as an American Society of Civil Engineers National Continuing Education Program Seminar Instructor on liability of engineers, construction law, mediation and arbitration, professional ethics, fair contracting methods, and practical methods for avoiding disputes. Formerly Adjunct Professor, Rutgers Business School, and Adjunct Professor, Stevens Institute of Technology Graduate School of Construction Management.

Since 1989, has mediated hundreds of construction, commercial, consumer, design, partnership, financial, home construction, insurance, and surety matters for the American Arbitration Association as a member of their National Construction Industry and Commercial Panels. Has acted as counsel resolving hundreds of construction and commercial disputes for clients through negotiated settlements, mediation and arbitration. Also serves as a court-approved mediator for the New Jersey Superior Courts resolving the above types of issues. Cases have involved bridge, tunnel, highway, pipeline, commercial, institutional, school, home construction, residential, condominium, marine, environmental, sewage treatment, landfill, power and industrial projects, in both the public and private sectors, ranging in value up to $50 million. Also has extensive experience with consumer disputes, consumer fraud claims, professional negligence, partnership disputes, breach of contract issues, construction bond claims, and insurance matters.

Issues include breach of contract, differing site conditions, defective plans and specifications, extra work claims, defective workmanship, design changes, delays, acceleration, and lost productivity, geotechnical issues, changed conditions, architect and engineer malpractice, consumer fraud, wrongful termination, performance bond disputes, and fraud claims.

My philosophy is to treat all participants with fairness and respect, to give all parties an opportunity to be fully heard, and to do my best to help the parties reach a fair and reasonable settlement.
