Pete's philosophy is to work extremely hard for the parties to exhaust all opportunities to settle while allowing the parties to control the process. He will forthrightly discuss pros and cons of each party's position, offer his experience to help the parties consider their position. He believes that a firm mediator who pushes the parties is more effective than one who gives up too easily and declares impasse before it actually is needed.
