Independent Arbitrator & Mediator specializing in Asia-related commercial arbitration and mediation cases. 36 years in Asia, currently based in San Francisco. Has advised and represented multinational companies in investment, trade, and dispute matters in the People's Republic of China since 1977, including in respect of joint venture, merger and acquisition, restructuring, technology and trademark licensing, intellectual property rights enforcement, distribution and sales agency, employment, regulatory compliance, and other legal issues. The clients' industry sectors and projects in China have included manufacturing, infrastructure projects, construction and design projects, energy and natural resources development, hotels and restaurants, franchising, commercial airline company operations, shipping and transport, manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics, film and television, advertising, sports, textiles and other fields. Representation of clients in dispute matters has primarily involved arbitration, mediation and advice on court litigation in China and Hong Kong.

Has served as mediator for international commercial disputes in Hong Kong and in Beijing, China. Also served on the Mediator Accreditation Committee of the HKIAC in Hong Kong for two years. Has facilitated conciliation and settlement in dozens of multi mode dispute procedures, according to the Parties' agreement and instructions.

Has served as mediator for disputes involving a variety of contracts and commercial matters, including cooperation and joint venture arrangements, manufacturing contracts and licensing.

Emphasis on effective and efficient procedures for dispute resolution, in accordance with the parties' agreement. Collaborates well in multi mode procedures which involve more than one form of ADR. Pragmatic focus on procedures and results which are effective and appropriate for all interested parties.
