On the AAA Roster of Arbitrators since 2015 and currently on its Healthcare, Commercial, Consumer, and pension/ERISA panels. Presided over 120 commercial contract disputes across the country in an array of industries, including healthcare, consumer disputes in the financial services, technology/telecommunications, education, and automotive sectors, and a wide variety of business-to-business commercial disputes. These matters ranged from complex multi-million-dollar disputes between major companies involving thousands of claims to smaller disputes involving individual claimants or small businesses. Prior to becoming a full-time neutral in 2017, 23 years of commercial litigation practice in state and federal courts and arbitrations, including a variety of complex contract disputes, health, life, disability, and property insurance disputes, ERISA and employee health and welfare benefits litigation, fiduciary claims, health care and nursing home litigation, and products liability matters. Substantial healthcare experience representing and counseling health providers, plans, claims administrators, employers, and employees in a variety of health and managed care reimbursement (physician, facility, behavioral health, drug/pharmacy, and ancillary services) disputes, ERISA and plan benefit-related litigation, and regulatory and contracting matters. These also included intricate contract disputes involving multiple parties who needed to create or preserve good business relationships with each other and thus required practical approaches to reach “win/win” solutions.

Conducted mediations for the past eight years in a variety of state and federal court litigated matters and arbitration disputes, including insurance, healthcare, employee benefits, business-to-business, and real estate disputes. These mediations included participants from individual litigants to large, national companies, which required navigating highly divergent interests and needs and facilitating negotiations between entrenched parties to reach mutually agreeable resolutions. Completed 40-hour mediator training in 2014 and advanced mediation training in healthcare disputes in 2015.

Representative mediated matters include successful resolution of disputes between: - major health care providers and national health care payors involving thousands of claims and from seven- to eight -figure amounts in controversy; - individual claimants and insurers over single health/life/disability benefit claims ranging from six- to seven-figure amounts in controversy; - small- and mid-size businesses seeking separation, division of assets/liabilities, and resolution of litigation.

Focus on pre-mediation preparation with evaluation of mediation statements and pre-mediation conferences with each party's counsel to identify significant issues, needed information exchange, and opportunities for resolution. Primarily facilitative approach with quasi-evaluative as needed in complex legal cases to aid parties in identifying and evaluating all of their alternative options to litigation.

Conducts mediation by Zoom. Highly proficient in Excel where needed for matters involving large amounts of claims data. Successfully completed Clearbrief Academy, May 2025.
