More memorable projects include: - Strath Haven High School: A 12-phased/14 Prime Contractor project including renovation to existing and a four-story addition in the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District. ($27 million) - Agusta Aerospace Corporation: This multi-phase project spanned over the course of four years and seven acres in square footage. The assembly area included a five-ton overhead crane door, foam sprinkler system, aviation doors, workstations, etc. The second phase encompassed the flight line area for helicopter production. The third phase included offices, kitchen, locker rooms, electrical room lobby, vestibule and paint booth. The facility was built for US Helicopter Contracts. ($30 million) - Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products, Inc.: A new 400,000 sq. ft. laboratory and building renovation/collocation project in Skillman, New Jersey. ($24 million) - Conrail Technology Center: Three-story new building fast-track project in Philadelphia, PA. Included a bomb shelter with caissons. ($38 million) - Mercedes Benz of Cherry Hill: 100,000 sq ft car dealership new showroom in Cherry Hill, NJ ($10 million) - Pepsi Bottling Company: 11,000 sq ft addition and renovations to existing facility in Philadelphia, PA ($1.5 million) - Four Points Sheraton: Building conversion of 11 stories and addition of 1 story to luxury hotel in Philadelphia, PA ($9.5 million) - International Airport - Philadelphia Parking Authority. This was a three shift project for the renovations to garages, lobbies, and elevator areas. ($8 million) - Philadelphia Housing Authority (multiple contracts) Renovations to 32 Existing houses simultaneously with re-roofing projects, design/build, mechanical, etc. ($10 million) - City Hall Philadelphia Records Room: Removed existing mill work, cabinetry and related scopes and reinstalled custom build mill work and bullet proof glass, working in three phases and two shifts.

Some examples of meditations are as follows: Facilitated a settlement between a glass and glazing subcontractor and one of their material suppliers on a Project for the City of Philadelphia. The material supplier caused significant delays on the project resulting in the subcontractor’s retainage being held by the City of Philadelphia therefore in turn they did not pay their vendor in full. Was able to facilitate a mutually satisfactory final payment from the subcontractor to the vendor avoiding legal action. Facilitated a settlement between MBE/WBE site subcontractor and The City of Philadelphia, owner of the Project. The subcontractor performed work that was out of their originally contracted scope at the direction of the City. The City’s project manager later refused to approve their change order request leaving the subcontractor to foot the costs for the City’s changes. Mediated the situation resulting in the subcontractor being reimbursed for a significant amount of their additional work avoiding legal action. Mediated in a case of developer vs. site subcontractor. The Subcontractor delayed the project and the developer wanted to terminate their contract. Was able to terminate the contract for a negotiated dollar amount and the developer was able to enter into a new subcontract with a site subcontractor who was able to finish the remaining work on schedule. Negotiated a final release and payment between a roofing subcontractor and a scaffolding supplier. Mediated a case that had been submitted for arbitration. Upon a mutual agreement the contractor agreed to issue payment to the project owner for work that was performed but deemed not satisfactory to the owner. Served as a single arbitrator on Fast-track and regular cases as well as a panel member on 1 million plus dollar arbitrations. Negotiated a real estate tax payment plan between the City of Philadelphia and a local Non Profit entity in lieu of the Non Profit facing bankruptcy or sheriff sale. Issues handled through mediation vary from financial, faulty work, incomplete/unclear project documents and grievances relative to the contractual scope of work.

Having many years of experience in business as a General Contractor, Civil Engineer, Property Manager, and Land Developer, I have found myself involved in legal matters and arbitrations both as a plaintiff and defendant. A majority of these matters could have been best handled by mediation as it is not only more cost effective, but also time efficient and personal. I truly believe that sometimes people get caught up in their perception of a situation. A good mediator is able to dissect facts from emotion and assist in bringing a solution that is palatable to all parties; this is always my goal as a mediator. I take the steps necessary to make all participants feel that their position is heard, understood clearly and validated. My philosophy has allowed me to successfully settle all case in which I served as a mediator. Life is too short to spend years of your life on litigious matters as opposed to negotiating differences and moving on with the better things in life.
