Active and successful commercial litigator for over 36 years. Has been on the AAA Construction Arbitration panel since 2004 and has arbitrated many matters as well as having served as the chair of three panel arbitrations with amounts in controversy well over $10,000,000. Over the past 11 years has mediated for over 100 different law firms located in the northwest and other parts of the country including California and New York.

Practiced commercial litigation for over 36 years with an emphasis on construction law. Represented a variety of clients including owners, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, insurers, insureds and others in a variety of disputes, including with respect to construction, construction defect, insurance, partnership, banking, bonding, shareholder, real estate, personal injury and employment claims.

Mediated, as the mediator, over 250 disputes in a variety of practice areas. Acted as an advocate for parties in many hundreds of mediations in various practice areas.

Mediated, as mediator, a wide variety of disputes including but not limited to construction, construction defect, insurance, partnership, banking, bonding, shareholder, real estate, personal injury and employment disputes. The amount in controversy in these disputes has ranged from $50,000 to tens of millions of dollars.

Mediator style is to be active in the process and not just a messenger between the parties. Mediator tenacity and a willingness to put in the time needed before, during and after the scheduled mediation session to give the parties the best chance to resolve their disputes is critical. Another essential part of the process is making sure the parties know the risks of not settling and what the likely outcome will be if there is no settlement while at the same time offering creative solutions to help bring the parties together.

Familiar with the various online platforms (i.e. Zoom, etc.) and have conducted dozens of mediations by Zoom as the mediator and participated as an advocate for clients in many virtual mediations.
