Mediation is a unique opportunity for the conflicting parties to discuss and resolve, in their own terms, with the guidance of a neutral third party their dispute. The mediator must be skilled in active listening, in building trust and demonstrating concern and understanding of the topics and the needs of the participants. This will assist the parties in reaching agreements that fit their desires in an expedite manner. Being a voluntary and confidential process makes reaching a suitable agreement a possibility.
