Extensive experience in arbitration, litigation and civil enforcement relating to construction, energy, finance, corporate equity and real estate. Represented clients in many significant and complicated commercial dispute cases, covering jurisdictions such as the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, Austria, Qatar, Bulgaria, Iran, Vietnam, Peru, Namibia, Ghana, Congo, Ethiopia and South Sudan. Most notable cases include: representing the party in applying for recognition and enforcement of an arbitral award, which is a landmark case in China’s arbitral judicial review regarding public policy; acting as counsel in the first dispute between the applicant for independent guarantee and the issuer in China; serving as the presiding dispute review expert in the first case applying the Construction Project Disputes Review Rules of CIETAC; acting as the lead counsel for a state-owned enterprise, successfully setting aside an ICC arbitral award in the High Court of Singapore and the Singapore Court of Appeal, which is a very rare case for a Chinese enterprise to have successfully set aside an arbitral award of a prominent international arbitration institution outside China.
