Have been involved in construction disputes over the Honolulu Rail Project, Claims for wrongful foreclosure in residential matter, commercial landlord tenant disputes, failure to disclose material facts in the sale of a luxury home on Maui, among other cases.

Issues handled as a mediator have included: 1) the interpretation of provisions in the contract to operate the Honolulu Rail Project where provisions were ambiguous; 2) whether a commercial property manager mismanaged the account of a commercial tenant; 3) whether the seller of a luxury home on Maui failed to disclose material facts to a purchaser; and 4) whether a lender wrongfully filed a foreclosure on a residential property.

In commercial cases, I will require confidential pre mediation statements one week before the scheduled mediations. I will review and contact counsel for each party to understand their client's position. I usually dispense with a joint session unless the parties want one. On the day of the mediation, I am generally ready to meet with each of the parties with the information i obtained from their counsel to get to work towards settling the matter.
