JUDICIAL Handled civil cases, including complex breach of contract, commercial real estate, health care, payor-provider, shareholder, breach of fiduciary duty, corporate control and governance, partnership, trade secret, insurance, intellectual property, employment, product liability, professional malpractice, class action, SLAPP, tort, and consumer fraud litigation in Business Litigation Session. Decided pre-trial motions and post-trial motions, detailed findings of fact and conclusions of law in memoranda of decisions in jury-waived trials, and presided over jury and jury-waived trials. Also presided over a wide variety of felony criminal cases. PRIVATE PRACTICE Concentrated on complex business litigation, including defense of white-collar criminal investigations and litigation. Primarily represented companies in investigations and litigation alleging fraud, patent infringement, bribery, conspiracy, and violations of federal statutes, including the False Claims Act, the Anti-kickback Statute, the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and securities laws. At clients’ request, also conducted more than 50 internal investigations of alleged corporate wrongdoing and advised on compliance issues. Clients included multinational pharmaceutical, medical device, and technology companies. Co-chaired Wilmer Hale’s Litigation/Controversy Department of more than 430 litigators (2004-2007) and chaired Hale and Dorr’s Litigation Department (2002-2004). Served on firms’ Executive Committees and as director or trustee of other organizations, including CareGroup, Inc, Fiduciary Trust Company, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary Foundation, Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, Harvard Club of Boston, and The Fenn School. Consistently recognized by clients and peers as litigation leader in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Boston Magazine, and other publications. Listed in 2004-2016 editions of New England Super Lawyers and featured in 2015 edition. Twice selected as “Top Woman of the Law” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and inducted into its Circle of Excellence in 2015. Recognized as “Trailblazer” by Women’s White Collar Defense Association in 2021 and 2022.

Proficient in use of online platforms, including Zoom, GoToMeeting, and MS Teams. Willing to conduct arbitration hearings on such platforms. Also proficient in use of software to receive, review and organize electronically stored information. Prefer to receive all party submissions and evidence electronically.
