I work mostly as an evaluative mediator with use of a facilitative approach where appropriate. Construction cases are usually driven by data, contract terms, and industry practices, which lends to an evaluative approach. When disputes involve a condominium association, homeowners, or labor issues, a facilitative approach may be preferred because such cases can be quite personal and interspersed with emotion. Stylistically, you will find me engaged, proactive, and patient, focused on brokering compromise based upon the substance of each issue, seeking common ground, often offering suggestions to achieve resolution. If helpful, I may fluctuate between an evaluative and a facilitative style, depending upon the needs of the participants at a particular moment.
