My approach is “Clarity First. Then Negotiation.” I believe parties make better decisions when they clearly understand the legal, financial, and parenting issues before meaningful negotiation begins. I use a structured, practical process that combines facilitative and evaluative techniques. Open-ended questions help identify priorities, clarify concerns, and move beyond fixed positions. When appropriate, I help parties examine the practical and financial consequences of proposals, consider alternatives, and assess options realistically. I remain neutral and respect party autonomy; the parties decide whether to settle and on what terms. Preparation is central to my process. I work to identify missing information early, break difficult decisions into manageable steps, and help parties develop clear, workable terms that can endure beyond the mediation session.
