As a district judge, presided all types of cases including civil, probate, family law and criminal dockets. As a prosecutor and practicing attorney, served as first chair on numerous jury and non-jury trials in both state and federal courts. Since retiring from the bench, has served as of counsel at Rhodes Hieronymus. Current practice includes mediation, general civil litigation, creditors' rights, trusts, family law and probate.

Retained as a mediator on a variety of cases since retiring from the bench. While serving as a district court judge, served as court-appointed settlement judge in numerous civil cases, facilitating resolution without trial. Completed 40-hour Civil Mediation Training at the National Judicial College in 2024.

Generally laid back style. Normally has a telephone conference with the attorneys prior to mediation to discuss issues that could help resolve the case. Mediation starts with a brief joint session for introduction to the participants, then separates for caucuses. During caucuses primarily uses the evaluative method. Prefers in person mediation, but is proficient and willing to mediate remotely.

Is proficient with using Teams and Zoom platforms when requested. Also proficient in drafting mediation agreements during mediation.
