Extensive experience representing clients in child custody and visitation, child support, property division, spousal support, guardianship, probate, and trust administration matters. Involved in drafting, review, and negotiation of premarital agreements, and preparation and review of estate planning documents. Majority of practice devoted to issues related to separating families, whether married or not, and issues relating to coparenting children.

Served as mediator in wide range of disputes related to divorce and child custody for couples throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Many clients have been employees at Silicon Valley tech companies, with a wide range of compensation packages, including RSUs, startup equity, stock options, and employee stock purchase plans. Also have experience with nontraditional families. Participation as attorney in family law mediation and mediation related to probate matters.

I approach mediation in an honest, direct, and respectful manner. I prefer to gather as much information as possible from the parties/counsel prior to the first working session so I can understand the parties' positions and potential reasons for the gaps between the parties. After processing the information that is provided, I like to meet with each party/counsel individually to understand more about their positions and to understand the parties' history with each other. I feel that the history of the parties' relationship, and how each party has perceived the relationship, are important to mediating family disputes. Many times the emotions involved in a family dispute do not allow parties to hear and understand that they are agreeing on more than they think, and I believe my history litigating these disputes helps me to effectively mediate disputes between parties involved in these cases.
