Over the course of more than 20 years of mediating cases, has mediated a wide range of cases, including: over 30 employment cases involving both large and small employers, over 25 commercial cases (franchise, partnership, family real estate business, corporate, general business contracts, and medical), and over 10 construction cases (some involving owner and contractor disputes and some involving owner and subcontractor disputes.

Issues mediated have included: (a) employment termination, discrimination, promotion, compensation, and benefit issues; (b) commercial contract interpretation, performance, payment calculation, business valuation, accounting, and other issues; and (c) construction contract interpretation, performance, and damage issues.

My philosophy regarding mediation is based upon the basic fact that the mediation process is the process of the parties. The role of the mediator is to assist the parties in the process of seeking a resolution of the dispute. The mediator must listen to the parties and understand thoroughly their views on the issues. If a party so desires, the mediator may assist the party in evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of his or her positions on the issues. After the mediator has the confidence of the parties and understands the views of the parties, the mediator may be creative in bringing to the parties for their consideration various possible means of settlement on particular issues. Mediation is a process that allows the parties to have input and the opportunity to achieve a lasting settlement.
