Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil mediator since 2009. Full-time mediation practice focuses on business and commercial disputes, condominium and HOA matters, construction law, first party property, insurance law, and personal injury. Previous legal experience extends over 30 years as a trial lawyer representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants in commercial law, condominiums, insurance, personal injury, and real estate, including prior service as an ethics trial lawyer for The Florida Bar. Past Chair of the ADR Section of The Florida Bar (2021-2022) and has served on its Executive Council since 2019. Representation, appraisal, and litigation on behalf of insureds against insurance companies involving insurance coverage and damages for first party property claims. Representation and litigation on behalf of insurance companies involving automobile insurance policies, insurance coverage determinations, insurance policy termination, and subrogation claims. Representation and litigation on behalf of injured parties in personal injury actions involving automobile accidents, premises liability, and product liability claims. Mediation of construction law matters involving disputes between owners, general contractors, and subcontractors for unpaid services, construction liens, and construction defects. These matters can often include multi-party mediations with three or more parties. Mediation of first party property claims involving disputes between residential and commercial insureds and insurance companies for insurance coverage and damages. Primary issues include the cause, origin, and scope of the damages, as well as any applicable policy exclusions. Mediation of personal injury claims involving automobile and trucking accidents, and premises liability claims for alleged dangerous conditions or negligent security involving condominiums, homeowners, commercial businesses, and governmental entities. These matters can often involve multi-party mediations with three or more parties, including global settlement conferences.

My primary goal during mediation is to help lawyers achieve a more effective and meaningful mediation that enables all parties to make informed decisions concerning the resolution of their case. My mediation strategies rest on a powerful foundation of ethics, professionalism, and strategic thinking. I use a thoughtful, integrated approach to problem-solving by fostering an environment that encourages collaboration, information sharing, and risk assessment to achieve a meaningful mediation.

Regularly conducts mediations via Zoom. Also familiar and can use Teams or GoToMeeting if necessary. Proficient with most legal technology software platforms. Exploring and utilizing AI for administrative, personal, and project tasks, including ChatGPT and NotebookLM.
